The Oakland Interfaith Youth Gospel Choir (OIYGC) positively influences its youth singers, offering musical, social, and personal learning that changes young lives. OIYGC facilitates tours, lessons on music theory, poise and presence, health and hygiene, as well as resume workshops and other life instruction tutelage.

In support of delivering musical experiences to institutionalized and underserved audiences; serving the general public with free admission events; benefits in support of schools, fellow non-profits, etc; the Bi-Annual Traditional Music Workshop and Free Annual Evening Musical.

New recordings grow the Choir’s reputation, increase revenue, broaden its message, and provide a lasting impact on audiences. The production and dissemination of the Choir’s recordings brings local, national and international awareness to Oakland performers and increases the cultural richness of the Oakland arts scene.
