Chromatic Community Music Center Presents:
The First Annual SF SingFest
The festival celebrates community music making and will feature four non-audition choruses at the historic Mission Dolores Basilica. Participating choirs include: The Calling All Choir, directed by Mark Growden; The Oakland Interfaith Community Choir, directed by Terrence Kelly; Mothersong Chorus, directed by Noe Venable; and Emandal Chorale, directed by Don Willis.
Saturday, November 12th, 8pm, at the Mission Dolores Basilica.
The concert will be by donation, so no advance tickets necessary.
On the following day (November 13th), all are invited to The Sunday Sing Thing. This will be a special edition of our weekly drop-in community sing, featuring leaders from each of the festival’s choruses. It will be followed by a potluck dinner.
Sun, November 13, 6pm – 7pm
The Polish Club of San Francisco, 3040 22nd Street, San Francisco, CA, United States (map)
As a community, we will sing songs from various folk traditions from around the world including rounds and canons, gospel songs from the American South, South African part songs, and songs composed by Growden and other contemporary composers. We welcome singers of all skill levels, from beginner to professional.
Suggested donation is $10-$20 sliding scale, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
